Grumpy Joe's Grooming was created in dedication to our President's Father, Joe G. Mesa aka "GRUMPY JOE." Joe followed his father’s example who served in the United States Navy & although the draft was in order, volunteered at 19 to join the United States Army during Vietnam. He loved language and was a typesetter, yet he was soon deemed a Door Gunner.

Mr. Mesa served 2 tours in Vietnam. Why do we call the company Grumpy Joe’s? Quite honestly, Joe basically looked "GRUMPY" with his shaved bald head, black beard, or mustache which he sometimes shaped in a handlebar, riding his Harley, and always with a long knife in a brown leather holster strapped to his right leg. He would sometimes ride our President to elementary school on his Harley when he was 8 years old. And when the children saw them riding up, well let’s just say, that kept him from being bullied. He was an amazing father. Strong and gentle when needed. He loved his family, his country, & his crossword puzzles.

He passed in 2011 from Lung Cancer. He beat Colon Cancer as well as a heart attack leading to a double bi-pass many years prior. He was 63 years young and taken too soon. We will remember him as a hero, a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, great friend, & the hardest damn worker in the room!
